“4-Wheeling” Jeep Adventure
“Four-wheeling” is the perfect way to see the real Sonoran Desert. From the desert floor to the majestic mountains, our experienced driver guides are “outdoor” people knowledgeable in the field of native flora and fauna. Authenticity is stressed. The tour itself will take you through some of the most beautiful desert regions in all of Arizona. You will enjoy a botanical walk identifying the Arizona cacti. The desert is full of wildlife and the drivers are quick to point out any deer, jackrabbits, javelina or other wildlife that might cross your path.

Horse Back Trail Ride
You’re in cowboy country. Do as the cowboys do, ride through desert foothills, cross washes, and get a whole new view of the Sonoran Desert. Our capable wranglers will lead you along trails pointing out the wildlife and desert landscape. So don your jeans and take a trail ride Arizona style. Note: There is a 230 pound weight limit for this event.

Horse Back Riding For The Experienced Rider
Enjoy the beauty of desert landscapes, wildlife, flora and fauna as as you ride free through the Southwestern Desert. Set your own pace as you venture out into the desert surrounded by rugged mountains, rolling hills, blue skies and an abundance of sunshine. Note: There is a 230 pound weight limit for this event.

Mountain Biking
Tucson’s desert beauty is complimented by the majesty and grandeur of the mountain ranges surrounding the city. There is an abundance of ideal mountain biking trails, where our experienced guides will escort the amateur through with professional biking enthusiasm. To further add to the experience, bikers become hikers and get a unique opportunity to explore the Sonoran Desert unexpectedly hidden in the vast terrain.

Hiking Tours
Our hiking tours are designed to bring you and your group an enjoyable, informative, and invigorating wilderness experience. Through movement and breathing, hiking expands our physical, emotional and spiritual selves. Our guides will be glad to tell you all about the plants and animals of our unique region. They will also give you a sense of the rich heritage of the Native Americans and Pioneers who made the Sonoran Desert their home. Accommodations can be made for all fitness levels. We provide a daypack, trail munchies, and a quart of spring water.

Soaring
If you drive and look into the vastness of the Arizona Desert, it can seem inert and solemn. But fly over it, and you will experience a unique perspective that brings the scenic grandeur to life. You will experience Southern Arizona’s most breathtaking scenery via a 2-man glider. Your 20 to 30 minute glide is destined to be an exhilarating experience. Private groups are only available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Note: There is a 240 pound weight limit for this event.

Cattle Drive
A day you’ll always look back on: the real experience of a western cattle drive, with all the sights and sounds that make up a cowboy’s life: the incomparable scenery among the saguaros, the joy of commanding a herd of longhorns and other cattle from horseback, the unforgettable songs and stories of cow-punchers make this a unique experience for city dwellers.

Spelunking (Caving)
Come join the guides at Colossal Cave as we take you into the bowels of the earth. We will descend into this cave with hard hats and lights. Guided by knowledgeable guides we will travel approximately 135 feet under ground and 1/4 mile into the mountainside, all this in a one mile journey. As we begin we will ascend and descend “ladders” placed by work crews years ago to facilitate the exploration of this cave. Catwalks across chasms will be traversed. This will be a walk on the wild side. Narrow passageways to expansive rooms will be witnessed. Make sure you duck to miss banging your head. Good chance we will encounter the local inhabitants of this cave, various bats.

Rappelling
Lazy K Bar Ranch offers a beginners rappelling course in the heart of the Tucson Mountains. The rappelling instructors conduct a training session on the ground, then it’s time to “suit up the climbers”, complete with helmets and be-lay lines. A scenic 15 minute hike takes guests up to the back of the Volcanic formed Tucson mountains. From this area the climbers will work with the lines, along with the instructors from the top and another from the bottom, who will guide climbers back down to the ground, approximately 75 feet. This activity is a sure hit for the adventurous outdoorsman.

A guide will accompany you through the course, explaining each station. The thrill of breaking clay targets delights even those who have never shot before.
